Zenobia Wreck

Swedish ferry fully loaded with trailers and trucks, sunk on her maiden voyage to Cyprus in 1980 off Larnaka's fishing harbor. Zenobia is now lying on its side at a depth of 18 to 41 meters.

A roll-on-roll-off cargo ferry, which was registered to carry up to 140 passengers. She has two decks, and two stern doors (1 port, 1 starboard).  A twin-screw motor ship, powered by two 7 cylinder, single acting, oil-fired two strokes engines. The engines delivered 18,760 bhp. Both screws are controllable pitch propellers. A Thwart ships propeller, forward to facilitate docking and low speed maneuvering.

Equipped with: D/F (direction finder) receiver, echo sounder, gyrocompass, position fixing device, radar, and radiotelephone. Zenobia had a maximum speed of 21.5 knots and sank outside Larnaka's fishing harbour at 2:30 am on Saturday the 7th of June 1980.
